In short: Offline Call Notes processes your calls, recordings, transcripts and notes only on your device; the app has no internet permission and never opens a connection itself. Your phone itself records the calls – the app finds those recordings and links them to the calls. We never receive any of this content. There is no account, no analytics or tracking tools, and no advertising.
The German version above is the legally binding one; this English version is provided for convenience.
mimivision GmbH, Reiherallee 47a, 13503 Berlin, Germany, represented by its managing director Andrei Darashenka. Email: customersupport@mimivision.de. Further details: Impressum (legal notice).
This policy applies to the Android app “Offline Call Notes”
(package name com.mimivision.offlinecallnotes). Visits to our website are covered by the
website's privacy policy (in German).
The app does not record calls itself: your phone's own call recorder does, where your manufacturer or country provides one. The app finds those recordings in the folders you pick, recognizes the date and the call from the file name and links the two. The recordings are only read; the app never changes or deletes anything outside its own area.
In its private storage on your device the app keeps: the linked call details you see (number, name, time, where known from the call log or the file name), the transcripts and summaries it makes, notes you type or speak, titles and tags, your settings, and the speech and language models it gets from Google Play. Speech recognition and summaries are computed by models running on your device. This data is not transferred to us or to anyone else. We have no access to it.
You decide how long it is kept: you can delete notes at any time, delete the call log or the recordings in your phone (where your phone stores them), or uninstall the app, which makes Android delete all of the app's data.
.ics file – only when you trigger it yourself. The app has no internet permission; every connection it needs is made for it by the Google Play Store app. When you switch on transcription or summaries, the Play Store app downloads the speech and language models (e.g. whisper, Gemma) as “AI models”; the app itself downloads nothing and receives no data from Google in the process. Google's processing is covered by Google's privacy policy. The app is free; it has no purchases, no subscription and no ads.
If you agreed in the Android settings to share usage and diagnostics data, Android sends crash reports and technical metrics to Google. We see them in the Google Play Console in aggregated form (e.g. device model, Android version, where in the program code the error occurred). They contain no phone numbers, no names and no speech. The app itself contains no third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools; its own logs hold no numbers, names or speech.
Android's automatic backup to your Google account contains only the app's settings, never numbers, names or texts. Notes, transcripts and summaries leave your device only if you export them yourself or share them with another app. The privacy terms of the storage location or receiving app you choose apply.
You can email us or report an AI summary in the app (for example because it is inappropriate or wrong). The app prepares an email to us in your email app, which you can see and change before sending; this involves no network call by the app. It contains your reason and comment and technical details (app version, Android version, AI model used). It contains the text of the reported summary only if you explicitly choose so. We process this information and your email address only to handle your request and to improve the app. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling requests and in the safety of the AI features). We delete the data once the request is closed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
We do not pass on personal data unless required by law. Transcripts and summaries are created on your device, for you; we make no automated decisions, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. AI texts can contain mistakes; please check important content.
Whether your phone records calls depends on the manufacturer and your country and is switched on by you. If you record conversations with other people, you are responsible for complying with the applicable laws. In many countries, including Germany, recording a private conversation without the consent of the participants is a criminal offence (§ 201 of the German Criminal Code). Inform the participants before the recording starts.
The app is not directed at children under 16.
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
As we never receive the app's content, these rights concern only data from support requests. To exercise them, write to customersupport@mimivision.de.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
We update this policy when the app or the law changes. The version published on this page applies.
